October 15 – December 19, 2004
Opening reception: Wednesday, October 13, 2004

In the fall of 2004 the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington presented Transitory Patterns: Florida Women Artists, a survey of nineteen artists working in or shaped by Florida. Guest curator Joyce Pomeroy Schwartz, with the museum's curator Britta Konau, brought together about seventy works chosen by a jury of Florida curators and museum directors from more than seven hundred submissions to the museum's Florida State Committee. After Washington the exhibition traveled to venues in Florida.

Gelfman was among the nineteen, alongside artists including Teresita Fernandez, Naomi Fisher, Dara Friedman, Lillian Garcia-Roig, Francie Bishop Good, Mernet Larsen, Maria Martinez-Canas, Aida Ruilova and Wendy Wischer. Her pages in the catalogue reproduce three recent works: Burqa, black March 2001, the tall blue panel Skin of 2002, and the small square Blue Blue of 2003.
